SportCheer Isle of Man
Cheerleading | Pom | Jazz | Hip Hop
SportCheer Isle of Man is the International Cheer Union (ICU)-recognised governing body for Cheer and Performance Cheer (Dance) in the Isle of Man. We are affiliated with SportCheer UK and managed by a board of directors, informed by a coaches commitee and governed by our Articles of Association.

Established in 2025, SC IOM is working hard to promote cheerleading as a sport in the IOM on both grassroots and elite levels. We aim to support both athletes and clubs in cheerleading disciplines. We strive to offer the islands' young people the opportunity to train and compete on an international stage whilst representing our home nation.
Our aim is to build a membership base of athletes and clubs that are provided/provide safe learning environments with qualified coaches. All coaches or clubs associated with SportCheer Isle of Man have passed safeguarding and safe practice screenings.

Cheerleading and Performance Cheer under the International Cheer Union (ICU) represent dynamic and inclusive disciplines that combine athleticism, artistry, and teamwork. As an associated country within the ICU, athletes gain the opportunity to compete on a global stage, showcasing their skills in both traditional cheerleading—which includes stunts, tumbling, and crowd-leading elements—and Performance Cheer, which highlights dance styles like Pom, Hip-Hop, and Jazz. Being part of the ICU community brings national pride, cultural exchange, and the growth of cheer as a recognized and respected sport worldwide.
Our Coaches
SportCheer Isle of Man is supported by a team of voluntary coaches. All of our coaches bring years of quality teaching experience. Coaches have all passed required safeguarding and qualification requirements.

ICU World Championships
On the 23rd of April 2025, SC IOM competed for the very first time at the ICU World Championships, representing Team Isle of Man. Our first athletes entered the Pom Open Doubles Division. This was a historic moment for our sport on the Isle of Man. The ICU attended the World Championship in 2026, once again competing in Pom Doubles.
